Natural Remedies For Skin Pigmentation

People of different age can be affected by dark spots (pigmentation) on the skin due to excessive melanin production caused by hormonal imbalances, vitamin deficiencies, stress or medical disorders.

Sometimes, these spots are very unsightly and these spots could be of different size and could occur on different parts of the body, but they are seen typically on areas which receive the most sun exposure like in the face and hands.

Melanin occurs naturally as a dark pigment found in the skin and hair which then produces some natural changes in the skin’s color.

The two kinds of pigmentation abnormalities are:

Hyperpigmentation:

This occurs where the melanin production is elevated leading to brown or tan spots on the
skin. Hyperpigmentation is also known as melasma.

Hypopigmentation:

This occurs where the melanin production is lowered and patches of lighter skin appears.
Hypopigmentation is also known as vitiligo.
